A voice for the tutorial, and the revive bar
- Voice-over: the tutorial is narrated by a dry old crypt-keeper, with jokes and commentary throughout. Aldric has a voice of his own. Gerald the training dummy does not, and has signed a waiver.
- There are 54 lines (about 5 minutes) from two natural-sounding male voices, generated with the neural TTS model Kokoro-82M (British voices and ).
- Step lines: each step has an intro line, and a quip when you finish it.
- Reactions: remarks when you get hurt, die, miss parries, dawdle, or stand outside the waystone ring.
- Aldric: says hello, gets cut down, says his last words, and gets back up for the finale.
- Subtitles: shown low in the middle, with the speaker's name.
- Pacing: only one line waits at a time. If you race ahead, the lines for steps you've already finished are skipped rather than queuing up.
- Revive bar: reviving a friend now shows a "REVIVING ALDRIC" bar wherever there's no co-op party HUD, including the tutorial. Before, the bar was missing. The interact prompt hides while you revive.
- Tidier tutorial:
- shorter guide cards (the voice carries the colour now);
- Aldric finishes his last words before he falls;
- voiced lines replace the old one-off text messages.
