Three-shot musket, a crosshair at all times
- The musket holds three charges.
- Between shots: the kick, then the hammer drawn back. That's a little under half a second, so you can put three shots down quickly but can't spray them.
- When it's empty: the reload starts by itself. It loads all three in 2.6 s at Shooting 1, or 1.6 s at 50.
- Topping up: R (gamepad Y) tops it up early. R still only respawns when you're dead.
- Interruptions: a dodge, sprint or block breaks off a reload and keeps its progress. An empty musket picks the reload up again by itself; a part-loaded one waits for R.
- Attack while empty: still swings the butt.
- A crosshair at all times in third person: a small dot at the centre of the screen, where shots and spells go. Weapons with their own reticle show that instead.
- With a musket the reticle is always up: its ticks sit where a shot may stray, three pips under it show the charges left, and a ring fills as it reloads.
- Fixed: the bow, staff and musket reticle could be laid out at zero size and drawn in the top-left corner of the screen. It now always fills the screen and sits in the centre.
- The controls hint lists Reload. has 43 checks (three shots and the re-cock gap, top-up, resume), and checks the third-person crosshair.
