Gear keeps pace, Mythics pay off, parties meet more
- Gear keeps pace with the depths.
- Weapon grade: a weapon's grade of make now adds damage: grade 1 (the forest's) ×1, grade 2 ×1.18, grade 3 ×1.3, grade 4 ×1.42. This is on top of its rarity, so the weapons you find deeper keep up with the enemies there.
- Entering a depth: with the gear the traders sell by then (one grade up, at a middling rarity), each depth is about the same fight. It takes 4–7 heavy hits to go down and 13–15 swings to drop a Skeleton Knight.
- The Catacombs hit harder: enemy damage there is ×2.9 (was ×2.5). Grade-4 armour had made the first trip down easier than the Crypt.
- Mythics make the Catacombs easier, without trivialising them.
- Mythic makes push their stats further (×2.6, was ×2.45) and a Mythic weapon adds ×1.6 damage (was ×1.5), so a Mythic sword out-hits the best Legendary by about a fifth.
- The named uniques are scaled ×1.8, and each unique weapon hits 10% harder than a Mythic make of the best ordinary weapon of its class. Dawnbreaker, Starfall and the rest are always the best of their kind. Their old authored damage varied too much from class to class.
- Measured against the Catacombs:
- Legendary gear: about 9 heavy hits to die and 11 swings for a knight.
- Legendary plus one Mythic weapon: 9 hits and 8 swings.
- A full Mythic set: about 15 hits and 8 swings.
- Party size. A bigger party meets more enemies:
- Enemies at each spawn spot: ×1.5 for two players, ×1.9 for three, ×2.25 for four, then +0.3 per extra player (
Expedition.PARTY_SPAWN). The extras stand around the spot. - The lair mothers stay alone, but their brood scales.
- Bosses and guardians: +50% health for each player past the first, on the host.
- Extraction waves already come per player holding a ring, so they scale by themselves.
- Enemies at each spawn spot: ×1.5 for two players, ×1.9 for three, ×2.25 for four, then +0.3 per extra player (
- Multiplayer (protocol 29): item stats and boss health changed.
