Basics
Death and extraction
The ways out of each depth, how long you must hold them, insurance, and what dying costs.
Loot only counts once you're out. Every depth has its own ways out; reach one, start it, and hold your ground until the timer runs down while the dead close in.
Ways out
| Depth | Ways out | Hold for |
|---|---|---|
| The Cursed Forest | Forest Waystone · Hanged Man's Stone | 10 s |
| The Hollow Ruins | Broken Waygate · Bell Tower Pyre | 13 s |
| The Forgotten Crypt | Ossuary Gate | 16 s |
| The Catacombs of Vael | Blood Gate · or the Abyssal Altar, once the Bone Warden falls | 20 s |
When you die
- You lose everything you carried: backpack, pouch (gold and materials), belt weapons, worn gear and keys.
- Except your insured item. Set it at your stash in the Sanctuary (hover, press B). It keeps its place and wears a gold INSURED tag.
- Gold you've banked is safe. Your Skills are never lost.
Graves in co-op
In a party, a player who dies for good leaves a grave where they fell: a headstone with their name, holding everything they carried (except the insured item) and their gold. Anyone still in the run can open it with E and carry the best of it out. It glows in the colour of the rarest item inside. See Co-op.
